"Warrior's Rise (Warrior Trilogy Pt. 1)"
  by the struggle

6/18/08

early i wake,
before the sun,

i rise...

innocence rises too
but it's presence...

i deny

i take up my blade,
measuring its stride

with memories of loved ones

dancing
before my sight...

my mother
quietly weeping

and my father
to the side...

patting me
on the shoulder,

saying...
come back alive.

he trained me well,
taught me how
to survive.

but something was different in his stare,

hard
were his eyes...

so with one foot
in front of the other,

shaking memories
from mind,

i walk,
towards battle

and possibly...
my demise

empty I feel,
hollow inside.

my blade is pristine,
yet for flaws it cries.

for war it shrieks
for blood it pines.

the road I've chosen,

vengeance,
my life.

i will not deter,
i refuse to turn aside

thousands of enemies
shall fall by my might.

my blade, let it dance,
my feet, let them fly.

for this quest,
deemed worthy...

in my sight.

father, be proud,
mother, dry your eyes.

the journey is just begun,

a warrior,
birthed inside...

"my blade, let it dance, my feet, let them fly"<-- i like that piece. this was vivid all in its own and the concept is smooth.

This is my fourth time back here and I believe that I'm ready to comment this time. This piece, the series from some reason reallyl threw me. I reached the end and I was stuck. I'm not sure if it's because of what this piece represents to me or if it's because of the reality of it all. You had me from "i rise... innocence rises too but it's presence... i deny" That struck me so profoundly that all I could do was try to absorb the rest of what was written yet I remained incapable of com...
