"Little Lady"
  by Philo

by Richard Ross aka Philo Tha Don

little lady is a star
she's amazing like grace
with a hell of a smile
and a beautiful face
but beneath the surface
are demons and ghosts
memories of torture
and broken chains of hope
an unknown playground
where evil visions play
reminding her ocassionally
from day to day
of the things she's endured
the cure, is a wall
that she's built up strong
and won't let fall
so if anyone approached
and tried to break her down
she'd just laugh of their weakness
as though they're a clown
but in all reality
there are others that care
and like a double edge sword
her wall is still there
they want to know her and hug her
kiss her and love her
treat her like a princess
and put nobody above her
yet she somehow runs for cover
due to emotional stress
because after living through hell
she feels there's no heaven left
very few can say they're close
to even comprehending her life
and nobody can say she's wrong
because there's no way that they're right
it's like a whirlwind of confusion
yet she feels she's on course
steering clear of all obstacles
while holding down the fort
the inner shrine of peace
that consists of her, herself, and her
where friends and family exist
but at any moment are a blur
and when she speaks, it's a change
from the silence that she screams
because conversation is just a novelty
when someone wants to know her dreams
having her sift through the nightmares
to have her remember what they are
risking a critical breakdown of pain
if she somehow reopens her scars

but damn...little lady is a star
so she shouldn't go through that
and even if she remembers, she should know
she doesn't have to go back
she's still here, alive
and stronger than ever
with or without that wall, she's intense
witty, and clever
and never could i imagine a person
that i knew so little about
until the day i begged for a whisper
and she started to shout
and now i understand
that there's more to her than 1st noticed
but i love everything either way
because this little lady keeps me focused

You're not so bad yourself my dude. Women are some intricate beautiful creatures. I think poets will try to fathom that complicated beauty for centuries to come. Nice scribe.
