I soaked up all the pain
Like the sun soaks up all the rain
You know like the rain represents my pain

I was stuck like life without the possibility of parole
Like innocent people locked up over shit someone lied and told
You know like parole the justice system gives that to murders & rapists
And then just lets them go…

I was trying to educate and teach the youth
Like drugs taught us about substance abuse
You know like the slogan”Crack is Wack”
It’s a fact, but who the hell came up with that

I voted for Obama and voiced my opinion
Like Congress declared war without the U.S citizens permission
You Know the Government runs on the people’s hard earned commission
That’s their mission

I watched a commercial about the Green Revolution
Like people gone jump up and buy car because of the air pollution
You know like lowering gas prices wouldn’t be a better solution

I visited my niece who just had a baby
She’s only 15, now isn’t that classified as a baby
Like sex education isn’t essential
You know like not wearing a condom and getting Aids isn’t intentional
If you didn’t know some of those Children got potential

I watched the news and seen those troops loose their lives
Like those men and women didn’t have mourning husbands and wives
You know like American has a reason to fight
We might as well cut our own throats with knife

I wrote this poem for an underlying principle
Like focusing on the actual tribulations isn’t simple
You know doing what’s right
And willing to protest and put up a real fight!
