"Come Clean!"
  by mindigoblue

I'm just saying...

It's only fair that certain things
Are made clear up front

And seriously
Some clarity is really all
that anyone wants

Establishing a foundation based on open communication
to attain longevity is key

And everyone already knows that what you get is often
more than you can see

So I'm of the mind that a new disclosure law be put up for review

With clear language designed
to prevent any horrible surprise
from suddenly being dropped on you

And stringently enforced by public displays of tattooed ridicule
For those who seemingly enjoy the practice of breaking any rule

Don't you think it's only fair that you get all the facts
So you can prepare yourself if your companion suddenly suffers a severe attack?

Instead of your being left helpless and feeling somewhat ill fated
From the possibility that due to their attack you've now been contaminated

Think of the time that might have been saved if you had only known
Why should you have to wait for what's hidden to eventually be shown?

This Full Disclosure Law could become essential in helping to relieve
All the pressure felt by those hiding this chronic and debilitating disease

I can already envision
Two newly acquainted people on the phone just feeling each other out
Each in turn trying to discern what the other is really about

Now wouldn't that be the perfect time to slide in a bit of truth?

You've only just met and nothings happened yet
so you can't say with certainty what they would do

If you've accepted yourself
Then it will get easier
Every time you do it

Why don't you try saying it with me now....

"Baby, I suffer from Bullshit"

There now...

Isn't that better than a bright orange bracelet that has it brashly displayed?
Telling everyone who's not colorblind that you're a charter member of the Bullshit Brigade?

It's better than trying to repress your natural inclination
Because from doing that you'd surely choke
As all that backed up bullshit congeals and seals
Your eyes, ears, nose and throat

See...

My idea could prevent casualties from over-intoxication
And if put into practice it could eliminate all bullshit contamination

So what I need right now is the public outcry so that congress is willing to review it
I've tried to go through the regular channels but they were all too full of shit to do it

This is humerous but it has a bit of a bite to it as well. I can see your point fully though. A very real truththat can't be argued with. Why should you go through all the motions only to find out that nothing was the way you thought it was or that the person practices playing. I can only think back to moments when I've been less than candid. Yeah... I'm shaking my head at some of the things I neglected to say the resulting situations of those non-statements right about now...

the depth of this is the basics of which relationships are built -- false foundations crumble under heavy loads - you are right to seek truth - but then again truth should just come to you -- nicely put poet
